Steps for Success provides business advisory and consultancy services to business owners of small and medium-sized enterprises in the West Midlands.
Our mission is to become the business advisors of choice for business owners in the West Midlands enabling them to achieve the full potential of their business.
Steps for Success is managed by Shaun Philpott FCA, a successful Chartered Accountant who has over 30 years of business experience. During his working life to date, he has developed a wealth of skills, including:

Shaun is a Governor and Chair of the Finance & General Purposes Committee at Penn Hall School in Wolverhampton.
Shaun is a past member of the membership committee for the Black Country Chamber's Alliance for Professionals group and a past member of the Board of Wolverhampton Chamber of Commerce. He was also previously an Independent Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee at Wolverhampton Homes.
He is a past President of the Wolverhampton Society of Chartered Accountants and ex-District President for the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Wolverhampton District of ICAEW. He undertakes freelance lecturing for BPP Business School.
Married to Sarah, with two children, Shaun enjoys playing golf and playing/watching football in his spare time and is not unknown to have the occasional go at karaoke (earplugs recommended!).
Shaun, in his early career, spent 15 years in the accountancy profession with KPMG and PWC where he gained significant experience of businesses across a multitude of sectors and at various stages of development.
His last 3 years in the profession involved working specifically with business owners, advising on business plans, raising finance and making acquisitions. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Shaun Philpott
After leaving the accountancy profession, Shaun undertook consultancy work and, with a business partner, founded and ran a training company that grew to employ in excess of 20 people over a 3 year period. Subsequently Shaun spent 2 years working in a business development role for a fast growing PLC in the vocational training sector where he increased business generated from existing national employer clients as well as securing contracts from new clients.
In 2015, Shaun acquired a local accountancy practice, Copia Wealth & Tax Limited, based at Pendeford Business Park in Wolverhampton. Since then Shaun has split his efforts between providing business advice to business owners and delivering professional accountancy services to an extensive client base within Copia of over 200 businesses.
